Blessed Day

What if
the ring bearer cries
the singers get dry throats
the priest fumbles his words
the cake arrives late
or topples over.

What if
the relatives argue
the bridesmaids faint
the photographer never arrives
the food tastes awful
I could trip on my dress
or maybe Daddy will.

It wouldn’t matter.

At the very least
one thing is sure to go as planned
by the end of that day
I will be married to the man I love.
